Your flight, plan, and journal
Your saved flight, preparation plan, support preferences, travel checklist, and journal are stored on your iPhone, protected by iOS file protection and encryption with a key kept in Keychain. CabinCalm does not send this personal content to its subscription or analytics services. A summary or export leaves the app only when you choose a destination in the share sheet. Copies you share are then controlled by that destination.
Permissions and flight information
The app does not request calendar, location, camera, microphone, or contact access. It does not track your location or sync your journal to an account.
If you choose a boarding-pass or booking screenshot, iOS shares only the image you select. CabinCalm reads it on your iPhone and does not upload or save the image or its full text. You review and edit the extracted flight details before returning them to your flight form. Canceling the import leaves your saved flight unchanged.
When connected flight search is available and you use it, your flight number and departure date go to CabinCalm’s Cloudflare-hosted service and FlightAware. A saved-flight status check also includes your route and departure airport’s time zone. Results may be cached for one minute without an installation identifier. Your name, booking reference, journal and preparation plan are not included.
When you choose to refresh airport weather, the app sends the selected airport codes to CabinCalm’s Cloudflare-hosted service. That service requests public airport observations from the NOAA Aviation Weather Center. The weather request does not include your flight number, travel date, name, plan, or journal. Cloudflare processes network information and request details to deliver and rate-limit the service. Airport-code requests and public weather responses may be cached for up to ten minutes; saved observations are also kept in the app’s encrypted local storage. These are airport observations, not a forecast of your flight’s ride or route.
Reminders are optional. After you save and confirm a flight and choose reminder moments, CabinCalm may ask iOS for notification permission. A local reminder can show the route and date you saved. That reminder is scheduled on your iPhone; its route and date are not sent to CabinCalm’s servers. You can change reminders in the app and notification permission in iPhone Settings. Visiting this website does not request notification permission.
Remote flight alerts are a separate choice in Notifications. When available and enabled, they send your current flight number, route, departure date, airport time zone and alert choices to CabinCalm’s service. The service connects these details to a random installation identifier and Apple push token so it can check FlightAware and notify this iPhone. Apple processes delivery. Journal entries, support-tool preferences, booking images and location are not included.
Turning alerts on requires confirming a notification on this iPhone. Registration lasts up to 31 days. Flight monitoring ends no later than the end of the day after departure, using the departure airport’s time zone. Turning alerts off removes the registration and your flight monitoring.
A minimal deletion record stops delayed requests from restoring removed alerts. It expires after 32 days and is removed during automatic cleanup. If removal is interrupted, the app keeps its removal credential in Keychain and retries when you return online. Alert credentials are excluded from your data export and device backups.
Subscriptions
Apple handles payments for CabinCalm Plus. RevenueCat provides subscription options, access checks, purchase restoration, and reports about subscription activity. It receives an automatically generated app user identifier and purchase and subscription information needed for those functions. Subscription checks can operate when optional analytics is off. CabinCalm does not provide your flight, preparation plan, support preferences, or journal text to RevenueCat.
See RevenueCat’s privacy policy and Apple’s privacy policy for their processing practices. Apple and RevenueCat maintain their own subscription records; deleting your local CabinCalm data does not erase those records or cancel a subscription.
Optional analytics and website hosting
Optional product analytics are off in the current app and website configuration. CabinCalm has no advertising SDK, does not use an advertising identifier, and does not record your screen. If product analytics become available, the app or website will ask you to choose before sending optional usage events. Your flight details, support preferences, journal text, and medical information are excluded from those events.
Cloudflare hosts this website and the app’s configuration, flight, weather, notification and feedback services and may process network information, such as an IP address and request details, to deliver and protect them. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. The website can keep an analytics preference in your browser’s local storage. Clearing this site’s storage removes that preference.
Feedback and contact
Use the feedback form to contact us about CabinCalm or request deletion of a submitted note. The form sends the category and text you enter, plus an optional reply email, to our Cloudflare-hosted support records only when you choose Send feedback. Please leave out flight details, journal entries, medical information, and other private content unless needed to explain the problem.
A successful receipt means the service accepted your note; it does not promise a response time. Feedback currently has no automatic expiry. To request removal, provide the receipt identifier if you have it so the note can be located, and add a reply email if you want a response. Do not send passwords or payment-card information.
Retention and your controls
Local information stays on your iPhone until you delete it. Settings provides Export my data and Delete my data. Deletion removes the saved profile, flight, plan, journal, support data, and optional usage preference from this iPhone. If flight alerts are registered, deletion first removes their remote registration and requires an internet connection. An interrupted deletion remains pending and can be retried. It cannot retract copies you previously shared.
To review or cancel subscription renewal, open Manage subscription from Billing and help, or use Apple’s subscription settings. Subscription-provider records follow Apple’s and RevenueCat’s processing practices rather than the app’s local deletion control.
